New Addition to the Backyard!

Step right up to the Chiu's Playground, where the admission is always free, just bring your own sneakers!

After much consideration, we finally went to Rainbow Swingset Showroom and ordered a swingset for the kids. The swing set has a wavy slide extending from the club house to the front of the set. It has 2 regular swings and 1 infant swing. The swings at attached to railings for the monkey bars. There are 2 ways to get the to club house on the top, one way is to climb the stair in the back or take the more challenging way by climbing the rock wall. Beneath the club is a picnic table and bench seats and sandbox area.

Since we didn't get anything for Crytal's birthday, we thought this might be a good choice, simply because this swingset can provide endless fun and play, plus, this swing set should last at least 10 years for the kids. As the below pictures show, the kids already having a blast from the set. I'm sure if we invite couple Crytal and Joshua's friends, this set will be the party central!

Tool Shed

As promised, here is the tool shed I spent about 2 weeks (on and off total) building. The biggest drawback on the shed is that it is made of aluminum not wood. Therefore, if I wanted to put up shelves inside for wall storage, it might be difficult. But hey, it's a tool shed. I can finally move my mower, wheelbarrel, chainsaw and other equipments from the garage to the tool shed. Not to mention patio furnitures as well.

Crystal's 5th Birthday Party

Crystal is five years old! Five!!! Boy, time flies when you're . . .time just flies, period. I can still remember tiny little baby Crystal lying on my forearm. Now she's all grown up, well, sort of. Honestly, I'm not sure where it all went. With a blink of an eye, she's 5 years old already. Doesn't matter how old she gets, as long as I'm her father, she'll always be my little baby Crystal.

As usual, without the consents from other people that came to the party (about 30 people including kids), I'm not going to post their pictures. So, I've selected few pictures that I took during the party and crop out the surrounding people.

Crystal's Birthday Cake. Her theme for the party was, well you guessed it, Princess!

Children's Hymn Competition at the Church

Wow, it's been almost an months since I update the site. I've been very busy with the yard work since the summer is here. Lots of grass cuttings and trimmings and what nots. I've also built a tool shed; a major accomplishment since moving to this house. I'll post some pictures next time. Here are some hand-picked pictures of Crystal during children's hymn competition at the church. I don't know why she was reading lyrics for the hymn. She had it memorized before the competion. I guess she just got the cold feet and took the lyrics with her. Nevertheless, there were 3 judges at the competition and she was awarded with a silver medal, a 2nd place, for her song (a rock-n-roll version of Amazing Grace)! This is her first ever competition of any sort. Hopefully, it's not her last.

Of course, her little brother is there to cheer her on eventhough the temperature in the sanctuary was unbearable.
